Qi Gong
Qi Gong means 'Qi cultivation'. The practitioner performs a series of gentle movements, using Qi to move energy around the body. It is done to promote physical health, well-being and longevity.
Tui Na
Tui Na is a Tai Chi massage technique which involves performing accupressure: pressing and massaging the meridian points. The purpose is to clear and invigorate the energy channels of your body; it also relaxes tense muscles and helps with sports injuries. You can learn to use Tui Na to heal yourself and others.
The Short Form
The Short Form is a series of movements derived from the Long Form of the Yang Style, which is intended for beginner students and for members of the wider public anxious to practice Tai Chi for general health purposes. It was created in 1956 by the Chinese sports ministry with the co-operation of several masters representing different styles.
Push hands
Demonstrating push-hands
Push hands is an exercise in which two people learn how to yield, follow and adhere to the opponent's power by pushing. Push hands practice increases understanding of the principles behind Tai Chi, and improves the execution of various movements of the form.
Advanced Classes
In addition to general classes, Master Deng has an advanced class for training those interested in becoming instructors. This class requires a commitment over a three to five year training period, attending classes at least twice a week. Entry into the advanced class is by invitation of Master Deng, as a certain basic standard and level of commitment has to be shown.
